Apple is booming, so is MacAttorney; What are the benefits of a ZERO CAPITAL GAINS TAX FREE ZONE?; and how to make an Urban University work.

1. Apple is booming and so are its support crew.

Yesterday Apple announced great second quarter results [their year end is 9/30] and a stock split. It is clear that the move to highspeed internet, is making their product line more useful, which means home-based businesses in the entertainment industry, or with web sites are going to be bringing streaming audio and video sooner rather than later.

What does this mean for Randy Singer, Esq., "The MacAttorney" more and more business for his home-based business. Keep up the great work, as a Mac User, we enjoy it.

2. ZERO CAPITAL GAINS ZONES ARE COMING TO A LOCATION NEAR YOU

This may be the headline in various newspapers around the country in mid May, including the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, and others. It is already the law in Washington, D.C., and the results are in, VCs like ZERO CAPITAL GAINS ZONES.

How will it work? We suggest you check out IRC Sections 1400 to 1400D with your tax advisors and start planning now. Having 35% of your full time and part time employees from the Zone is first priority, which is not difficult if you work out of your home. The IRS has put most of the rules in easy form.

3. Urban Universities can be fun if there is lots of housing.

New York University, San Francisco State University, and others are booming with happy students, faculty and staff, but some do not get it. Last night we listened to a student from the University of Southern California complain about living within the Campus, and having all students, faculty and staff run home on the weekends. Thursday Night is Party night we are told.

Downtown Los Angeles is less than one mile away, and there in lies the potential fun and games, 30M Sq. Ft. of underutilized historic buildings that could house tens of thousands of young people, downtown workers, and others, all within a subway ride to Hollywood, and points east, west, north and south. Will USC and Downtown Los Angeles come togehter, in a ZERO CAPITAL GAINS FREE ZONE? We hope so. [By the way that same student complained about college costs--she, her father, or grandfather needs a good tax advisor]
