In calculus class we learned how to think of curves as closely-packed sticks, each computed according to some formula that described the function.
- Make the sticks infinitely narrow and you get a nice smooth line connecting the tops of the sticks. Our yin-yang model works like this, too.
- The 'Opposing Forces' function is simple, X% = (100% - Y%). where Y is never zero.
